Power Supply & Generator Responsibility

King of the Castles' service is the provision, delivery, installation and collection of inflatable and event equipment only. It is solely the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that a suitable and sufficient power supply is available at the venue before the event and prior to our arrival. We are not responsible for assessing, checking or confirming whether your venue has adequate power, nor are we obliged to ask whether a generator is required before accepting or fulfilling your booking.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all equipment must be positioned within 10 metres of a direct power source. For the avoidance of doubt, each electrically powered section of equipment requires its own dedicated 13-amp plug socket. Some products consist of multiple electrically powered sections and are therefore treated as multiple pieces of equipment for power purposes. For example, a three-part assault course requires three separate dedicated plug sockets, with one plug socket allocated to each individual section. Where multiple electrical items are hired, each item must be connected to its own dedicated plug socket. Multiple products must not be powered from a single socket, and the use of daisy-chained extension leads or multiple extension leads running from a building is not permitted. If the available power supply is insufficient or unsafe, our team reserves the right to refuse installation. This will not constitute grounds for a refund.

Whilst our team will mention the need for a generator on the vast majority of bookings where one may be required, this is provided as a courtesy only and does not transfer responsibility to King of the Castles. There may be occasions where we are not informed of venue restrictions, power limitations or site-specific circumstances. Whether or not we advise that a generator may be required, the responsibility remains entirely with the hirer to determine that suitable power is available, to make any necessary enquiries with the venue, and to arrange an appropriate generator if required.

Should you require a generator, King of the Castles is more than happy to assist as part of our commitment to excellent customer service. As an umbrella company working alongside trusted event suppliers, we are pleased to act as a multidisciplinary team by liaising with our sister company, M & N Generators, on your behalf to obtain availability, discuss your requirements and assist with arranging your generator booking. Our aim is to reduce the amount of event planning required by our customers and provide a seamless booking experience wherever possible. This assistance is offered entirely as a gesture of goodwill and customer service and does not form part of our contractual obligations. King of the Castles is under no obligation to make enquiries, obtain quotations, arrange generator hire or ensure a generator has been booked.

Generator hire is supplied by a separate company under a separate agreement. Hirers are also welcome to source their own generator independently. Whilst King of the Castles may arrange generator hire as part of your booking, the generator itself is supplied and maintained by the third-party generator provider. King of the Castles accepts no responsibility for the operation, maintenance or mechanical reliability of generator equipment supplied by third parties.

Where a generator has been arranged independently by the hirer, King of the Castles accepts no responsibility for its suitability, specification, operation, fuel, maintenance or reliability. Furthermore, our staff are not trained on every make or model of generator and therefore will not install, connect, commission, troubleshoot or operate customer-supplied generators. Any assistance with third-party generators is entirely at the discretion of our staff and should not be expected. For this reason, we strongly recommend arranging generator hire through our recommended supplier, as our teams are familiar with their equipment and can work together to ensure a smoother installation process.

If adequate power is not available upon our arrival, or if a hired or customer-supplied generator is unsuitable, inadequate, unavailable or fails to operate correctly, preventing installation or operation of the equipment, this will not constitute grounds for a refund, partial refund, compensation or cancellation. King of the Castles accepts no liability for any loss, delay or inability to provide equipment arising from insufficient or unsuitable power arrangements. No refund shall be due in respect of inflatable hire, event equipment hire, delivery charges or other services which were available for use but could not be operated solely due to the generator failure or unsuitable/lack of power supply. The responsibility for ensuring suitable power remains with the hirer at all times.
